What is your current role/department? How has your role/department evolved over the years?
I currently work at TouchBistro as a Sales Engineer. This role involves providing prospects with live demonstrations of our TouchBistro product line, as well as creating client specific workflows. Within this role, I have the opportunity to work side by side with our Sales team to provide the best solutions for our clients and their unique needs.
I started my career at TouchBistro as a Sales Development Representative. I was coming from a position where I had previously used the TouchBistro POS system as a Restaurant Manager. Taking this experience and starting as a Sales Development Representative at TouchBistro was a natural next step. With the knowledge and skills I’ve gained from that experience, I have been fortunate to be supported in creating my own path into my current role as a Sales Engineer.
Tell us about what makes TouchBistro special to you.
TouchBistro’s people have made an incredible impact on my standard for how community and culture shape your perspective about work. At our roots, it’s clear what we come together to accomplish, a common goal to improve the technology available in the restaurant industry. Our leadership team continues to encourage a collaborative workplace environment, which is how we’re able to achieve this.
What excites you about the future of the restaurant industry?
I’m excited for the technology trends in the restaurant industry. The implementation of AI and automation will have a strong and positive impact on the industry. I’m curious to see how this new technology will change the dining experience and how restaurateurs can incorporate these features to increase efficiency.
In your opinion, what makes our TouchBistro culture unique?
I believe that our unique culture comes from the encouragement of being yourself. Most of my colleagues have a hospitality background and that creates a sense of comradery. In addition, we work in an environment full of people who are both supportive and friendly. People at TouchBistro are very approachable and committed to increasing a sense of belonging, ultimately creating this incredible culture.
What goals are you currently working towards outside of work?
I am currently working towards creating a Mentorship program. This is a goal I hold near and dear to my heart, as I want to provide support to my network by sharing valuable industry experiences, while offering guidance regarding personal or professional life. I have been very fortunate to have excellent mentors in my journey and I believe having these connections becomes invaluable to your overall success.
What’s your relationship to the restaurant industry? How did you get your start?
I grew up in the restaurant industry. From there, I realized I had a natural knack for providing a great guest experience and hosting. Once I outgrew the inconsistent hours that come with the industry I started to look for further stability and that’s when I found TouchBistro. This was the perfect transition, as I was able to stay within my passion for the restaurant industry, but with a 9 – 5 schedule.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
